Guilin rice noodles are the number one breakfast choice for the local people of the Guilin area
As the name suggests, the noodles are made of rice.
To order a portion just follow these easy steps:-
- Order and pay at the entrance to the restaurant. Portions normally come in 1 Liang, 2 Liang or 3 Liang with a Liang being about 50 grams. A 2 Liang portion is big enough for an adult with the very hungy ones going for a 3 Liang. Children usually go for a 1 Liang. The price for a 2 Liang is around 3 Yuan
- Once you have paid, you are normally given a token. Take this to the area where they cook the noodles and hand it over. They will cook your noodles in boiling water and then they will add choped spring onions, slices of pork and either some beans or peanuts as well as their home made sauce
- You will now be given your bowl with noodles. You then head off to a table or rack with other ingredients such as garlic, chilly, an array of pickled vegetables. Add any of these to your bowl
- Next to this, you will find a large bowl with hot stock. Ladel this stock into your bowl as a soup for your noodles
- They will also have a choice of either re-usable or disposable chopsticks. Depending on your feelings on the environment, you may or may not use the disposable chopsticks
- Enjoy your meal
