About Us

Alf is an Australian who first came to Yangshuo in 1999 as a tour leader for a British tour company. After 2 years of travelling around China, he settled in Yangshuo. Since then, he has got to know so much of Yangshuo and the area around here. He has also made many local friends in all walks of life. Alf was also asked by the local government to travel to Beijing with them to promote Yangshuo to the people of Beijing. This involved making two speeches, one of them was at the Beijing University. This was indeed a great honour for him, as the local people see him as part of Yangshuo.

Ming Fang is a local lady who has worked in Cafes and hotels in and around Yangshuo.They also have two young children, James and the recently arrived Chloe.

They have recently opened their own businesses in Yangshuo. You can find them at the Li River Retreat, the Water Buffalo Guesthouse and the Buffalo Bar. Both these places reflect their passion for openess and attention to detail. Pop in and say hello
